Roberto Prado

Founder, CEO
Roberto Prado is an experienced, award-winning television producer, and a career-long innovator. Turning professional as a photographer and creative director at age 14; he restored glass-plate photographs and daguerrotypes for Time-Life at 19, worked for CBS at 24 and produced the World Cup Games for Univisión soon after. Roberto developed modular techniques utilizing internet and fiber-optics in 1991; transmitted the first motion picture dailies over the internet for James Cameron’s film “Titanic” (together with NewsPrime co-founder Byron Wagner). Mr. Prado created the first news service to use AVIDs, which attracted a relationship with Fox that continued until 2014. Roberto regularly speaks and publishes articles on the nature of media in the 21st century, serves as an annual judge for PhD candidates at UCSB, and speaks four languages.

Alberto Pando is an award winning, innovative executive who has excelled in creating value for company shareholders. His specialties are launching content producing operations and turning around poor performing entities. He is highly skilled at working between content, distribution and marketing in order to better monetize output in the areas of News, sports and entertainment. He was Managing Director of Grupo Televisa’s US operation, where he helped launch “Pantelion Films” in a joint venture with Lionsgate, and also developed scripted TV series for US networks; He has also worked as VP and Executive Producer of Univision News and Sports divisions and launched successful local Fox News startups.

Stephen D. Rosen

Prior to joining NewsPrime, Steve was the founder, CEO and President of TV Magic, Inc., a San Diego based media systems integration company that served the global broadcast, A/V, multi-media and telecommunications industries with offices in Los Angles, New York, and Mexico. Steve has provided consulting services to CBS, FOX, ABC, Warner Bros., ESPN, Technicolor, and many Houses of Worship along with several major educational institutions. Steve worked on technology that now resides on the International Space Station for JAXA, sold over 100 million dollars of Design/Build contracts, and is the lead inventor on three granted/issued USPTO patents. Steve sits on several non-profit Boards serving both education and community. Steve honed his project management skills as an organizer for the 1984 Olympics and 6 years of undergraduate and graduate study in the sciences (BA and MS degrees awarded).

Richard Sammon has three decades of experience reporting daily on Congress, politics, national security, foreign affairs, and business markets in Washington D.C., New York, and Boston. He has worked as an editor and reporter for Kiplinger, Congressional Quarterly, McGraw-Hill and as a news writer for CNN. Mr. Sammon served as the youngest elected president of the National Press Club in Washington, DC., hosting 75 nationally broadcast NPC luncheons. Several of his interviews, including those with prime ministers, cabinet secretaries, historians, and artists are in the Library of Congress. Richard's stories were carried on Scripps Howard News Service to hundreds of newspapers and he was regularly interviewed on C-SPAN, MSNBC and CBS affiliates; appearing on Fox's The O’Reilly Factor and anchored “Weekend Journal” at C-SPAN. Richard Sammon is an established public speaker on national policy, business trends, and politics.

Jordi Carrera Ventura

Director of A.I./Computational Linguistics
Jordi was awarded Spain's Extraordinary Graduation Prize in General Linguistics by the University of Barcelona, and he was part of the first generation of students who graduated from that same university's Masters program in Natural Language Processing and Cognitive Science. He has 15 years of experience conducting state-of-the-art work on a wide range of NLP technologies, from document classification and machine translation to semantic parsing and sentiment analysis. He combines his technical background with industry experience in senior-level roles at companies like Telefonica, Grammarly, and WebInterpret.

Strategic Marketing Advisor
Ilyse offers a combination of keen analytical, creative strategic communications, marketing and stakeholder relation skills, as well as experience advising executive decision makers – in government, academic, business and nonprofit advocacy leadership. With a specialty in thought leadership and a knack for identifying boundary-spanning connections, Ilyse helps organizations strategically market their value by raising visibility, expanding influence and leveraging assets. Ilyse’s key strength is enabling people to find their best story to engage target audiences operating in a crowded global digital landscape. She is particularly well-known for translating or reframing complex 21st Century challenges. Recent clients include USP, (formerly US Pharmacopeia), AARP, American Constitution Society, American Resilience Project, Georgetown University’s Aging and Health Program.

Wendell Jamieson

Director of Strategic Alliances
Wendell Jamieson spent 30 years in local news, as a reporter and editor, most of them covering New York City. He spent 18 years at The New York Times, the last five as Metro editor. During his tenure, the Times’ Metro department was a finalist for four Pulitzer Prizes. A story-idea whiz, Jamieson challenged conventional notions of how to cover one region, and successfully drove up online traffic while maintaining the highest journalistic standards. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

Samuel Moses

C.F.O.
Samuel Moses was Chairman of the Los Angeles chapter of MENSA, a Director at Intertel and his firm has served the entertainment industry for over 25 years. Mr. Moses consults with numerous Silicon Beach start-ups and is an expert in early-stage business development.

Jerry Katell Photo

Gerald (Jerry) Katell

Advisor, Finance
Jerry Katell advises NewsPrime on matters of finance and business development. Jerry is a well-respected business leader in Los Angeles, with nearly five decades of experience creating and growing companies and leading projects in real estate development and entertainment. Jerry attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and later received his MBA from the Stanford Business School, graduating third in his class. He is a member of MENSA and helped build Walt Disney Concert Hall, serving on the building committee and board as well as the boards of the Music Center and Los Angeles Philharmonic. As board chair of LA ‘s BEST for nine years, he helped provide after-school education and enrichment programs to the poorest inner-city elementary school students in Los Angeles and helped the organization grow from 3,000 students in 21 schools to 28,000 students in 180 schools. Jerry also taught Industrial and Office Park Development at USC for nine years.

Byron Wagner

Co-Founder
Byron brings thirty years of innovative telecommunications engineering design to the table. During the last 15 years, Byron Wagner has developed and marketed nine major products to the communication and computing arena which helped shape, if not define, the resulting markets. His pioneering work in broadband communications included the first ever transmission of CD quality audio over telephone lines, the first motion picture dailies over the internet and earned the Walt Disney company and Oscar for technical achievement. Most recently Byron celebrated a successful exit with Viber and the birth of his first grandchild. Mr. Wagner is a long-time on-again, off-again collaborator with NewsPrime founder, Roberto Prado.
